The Knox County Quilt Guild has their needles flying and sewing machine pedals to the floor, completing projects to be included in their Annual Quilt Show. This show will exhibit approximately 200 quilts, both antique and new construction, wall hangings, miscellaneous quilted pieces and clothing, and fabric art, from area quilters and fabric artists.
The quilt show will be held at the YMCA Sports Center, 200 W. Chestnut St., Mount Vernon, Ohio. Show hours are Friday, August 12, 12:00 noon - 8:00 pm; Saturday, August 13, 10:00 am - 8:00 pm; and Sunday, August 14, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. The facility is handicapped accessible.
NEW THIS YEAR! Winner this year, by viewer's choice in our Youth Category, will receive a new sewing machine, donated by Paw Patch Quilt Shop of Mount Vernon. We are very excited about this, and hope this will encourage more youth to get involved and enter their projects into the Quilt Show.
Admission for adults is $3, seniors $2, and children in the company of adults are admitted free.
The Knox County Quilters Guild has made a beautiful queen size hand quilted Opportunity Quilt, titled "Freedom." Raffle tickets for the quilt are available in advance through any Quilt Guild member, or at the Show. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. The drawing will be held on the last day of the Show (do not need to be present to win). A portion of the proceeds will benefit Hospice of Knox County.
Deadline for submitting an entry is July 26, 2016 - Pick up an entry form today at Paw Patch Quilt Shop, Sharon's Quilt Shop, Paragraphs Bookstore, or download your form here.
